Democracy 101

University Project - Informational Design, UX/UI

Democracy only works if the voters are properly informed, and educated about their own government. At the moment Americans show a shocking lack of understanding of their governments basic functions. According to a poll conducted by the University of Pennsylvania in 2014,  only 36% of Americans could name all three branches of the government and 35% couldn’t name any of them.

Democracy 101 is designed to give Americans all the available information on their government and their representatives at all levels, Federal, State, and Local. Things such as voting records, campaign contributions, bills, Supreme Court decisions, and anything else the government does will be recorded and available to view. Not only that but all government happenings in history will be available to view as well. This all will be designed in an easy to understand format which also aims to educate about how the government works.

This project was featured in Teen Vogue in the summer of 2017. The article can be viewed here
